Psychic Development, Intuition & the Divine Feminine
Learning to Trust Yourself Again
There is a quiet spiritual awakening happening right now, especially among women who are beginning to reconnect with parts of themselves they may have ignored for years. You can see it in the questions people are asking behind closed doors and in the conversations that happen after classes, readings, or moments of emotional exhaustion. More and more people are wondering why they feel energy so deeply, why they seem to “know” things before they happen, or why they become emotionally overwhelmed in certain environments. Many are beginning to ask themselves if they are intuitive, empathic, or spiritually sensitive, and whether these experiences are something to fear or something to better understand.
Recently on The Spiritual Sanctuary: Wisdom for the Divine Feminine podcast, I explored the topic of psychic development, intuitive awareness, and the Divine Feminine from a grounded and empowering perspective. While the word “psychic” is the one many people recognize, I personally tend to prefer phrases such as intuitive development, spiritual sensitivity, energetic awareness, or inner knowing. The word psychic has become heavily commercialized and sometimes misunderstood, often associated with dramatic stereotypes or fear-based spirituality. In reality, intuitive development is much more grounded and practical than many people realize. It is not about becoming someone magical or superior. It is about becoming aware of yourself, your intuition, your emotions, your energetic boundaries, and the wisdom that already exists within you.
Most people have experienced intuition at some point in their lives, even if they did not recognize it at the time. Perhaps you thought about someone moments before they called, sensed tension the moment you walked into a room, or ignored a gut feeling only to later realize you were right. Many people experience vivid dreams, emotional sensitivity, or physical reactions around certain people or places. These experiences are often connected to intuition and energetic awareness. The challenge is that many people have spent years learning to distrust themselves. Society often encourages us to dismiss our feelings, overanalyze our instincts, and disconnect from our bodies. Yet intuition frequently speaks through the body, emotions, dreams, symbols, and subtle energetic impressions.
The Divine Feminine is deeply connected to this type of awareness. Historically, priestesses, healers, mystics, and wise women often worked closely with dreams, intuition, ritual, nature, energy healing, and symbolic understanding. Their wisdom did not come only from intellectual knowledge but from deep connection and presence. The Divine Feminine teaches us that wisdom can emerge through feeling, embodiment, emotional intelligence, and spiritual awareness. In many ways, modern life has disconnected people from these natural ways of knowing. We live in a world filled with overstimulation, constant information, emotional exhaustion, and nervous system overload. Many people are carrying stress not only physically but energetically. As a result, when they begin intuitive development work, they often discover that they are not “broken” at all — they are simply disconnected from themselves.
One of the most interesting aspects of intuitive development is learning about the intuitive senses often referred to as “The Clairs.” These are different ways people may naturally receive intuitive information. Some people experience clairvoyance, or clear seeing, through mental images, vivid dreams, or symbolic visions. Others experience clairaudience, or clear hearing, where intuitive messages arrive as words, phrases, songs, or internal guidance. Clairsentience, or clear feeling, is especially common among empaths and highly sensitive people who absorb emotions and sense energy physically or emotionally. Claircognizance, or clear knowing, often appears as sudden understanding or certainty without logical explanation. Many people experience several of these intuitive senses working together without even realizing it.
One of the most important things I teach when discussing intuition is discernment. Grounded intuition should not create fear, chaos, or emotional instability. True intuitive awareness often feels calm, supportive, and steady, even when the message itself may be difficult. Fear tends to feel frantic, obsessive, and overwhelming. This is why grounding practices, energetic boundaries, and nervous system regulation are essential parts of spiritual development. Spirituality should help people feel more connected to themselves, not less connected.
During the podcast, I shared the story of a woman who attended one of my intuitive development classes after years of feeling emotionally overwhelmed and disconnected from herself. She constantly doubted her instincts, ignored red flags, and felt exhausted around certain people. During a simple grounding meditation, she became emotional and admitted that it was the first time she had truly listened to herself in years. That moment had nothing to do with becoming “psychic.” It had everything to do with reconnecting to herself. I believe that is the deeper purpose of intuitive development. It is not about escaping reality or becoming spiritually superior. It is about rebuilding trust with yourself and learning to honor your own inner wisdom.
This work matters because so many people have lost confidence in their intuition. They question their emotions, override their boundaries, and ignore what their body is trying to communicate. Intuitive development can help people reconnect to self-trust, emotional awareness, energetic balance, and spiritual grounding. It can help people recognize unhealthy situations, better understand emotional exhaustion, and feel more aligned in their decisions and relationships. When approached in a healthy and grounded way, intuition becomes less about prediction and more about awareness.

At the end of the day, intuitive development is not about becoming someone else. It is about remembering who you already are. Your intuition may not be something to fear. It may actually be one of the most sacred and empowering parts of yourself waiting to be trusted again.
